Over the Easter weekend, the Prison Service Hockey Association better known as The GaolHangers proudly took part in the Torbay Easter Hockey Festival, enjoying three days of fast-paced action and great camaraderie. With 18 players making the trip, this marked one of our strongest turnouts in recent years.
We hit the ground running with a thrilling 4–3 win against the host team, setting the tone for a competitive and spirited weekend. Over the course of six games two each day we consistently played hard and smart, securing second place across all our remaining matches. It was a performance we’re proud of, showcasing both our determination and our ever-growing team spirit.
In addition to the hockey, we used the weekend as an opportunity to give back, fundraising for The Lodge Cancer Support and Information Centre—a local charity close to two of our players' hearts. The Lodge, part of the Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, provides vital support and information for those affected by cancer. We're incredibly grateful for the support we received and proud to help such a meaningful cause. The Lodge Cancer Support and Information Centre - Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust
