THURSDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2025
1430 KO
Hemsworth Miners FC, Pontefract, Yorkshire.
The prison national team, travelled to Pontefract to play against the Northeast prison side. This was an opportunity for the manager to see and try out a lot of new faces for the side. A very unfamiliar squad with only a couple of regulars making the trip to Yorkshire.
The game kicked off and the national side immediately put the foot on the gas and piled pressure upon pressure on the Northeast side. England forward Burton was clearly up for the game and had a couple of early chances saved by the northeast keeper. It didn’t take long for England to take the lead, and it came from Burton who finished off a great England move, 1 nil England.
The game continued in the same fashion with England seeing most of the ball. The Northeast side created a couple of chances that were well dealt with by the England defence, they also forced the England keeper into a few good saves.
As the game continued England began to grow into momentum and create by far the better chances. The England midfield was linking up well and giving plenty of chances to the England attack. The national team striker Burton who had piled pressure on the Northeast side all game grabbed another 3 goals taking his tally up to 4 for the game. A new name on the England score sheet Banks also took his goal well to take the full-time score to 5-0 to the England Prison service fc. The game was playing a fantastic spirit.
Thank you to the Northeast side for allowing us to play this trial game and thank you to Hemsworth Miners FC for hosting the game.
